Mixing a Chromatic Color Palette

We’ve brought this workshop on the road 5 other times and at the conclusion of each workshop, all participants, from experienced painters to beginners, have told us they have learned a great deal and feel empowered moving forward.

In this weekend workshop, we will explore how to mix our color harmony palette and how to use it effectively. It’s easy to make a dark color like Ultramarine Blue lighter by adding white, but how do you darken a light color like yellow? What is the proper thought process in order to warm or cool a color? How do you keep colors from getting chalky or muddy…and much much more. There will be follow along exercises on both days along with plenty of discussion and time for all your pressing questions about color mixing. On day two you will complete a painting using what you’ve learned and receive one-on-one guidance. We promise that this will be a most informative workshop and you will walk away with a newfound confidence in your color mixing.
